Mission, Background, and Contact
Hartwig Medical OncoAct® is a molecular diagnostic DNA test developed by Hartwig Medical Foundation, a non-profit organisation in Amsterdam founded by oncologists and researchers.
Hartwig Medical Foundation’s mission is to improve care for patients with cancer. To do this, they set up a high-tech lab with state-of-the-art whole genome sequencing equipment and have developed bioinformatic software. We developed a patient report for current patients, which outlines all possible treatment options for patients with cancer. For future patients we have, in collaboration with researchers, created a database with data from more than 4,500 patients, which is now used for more than 100 studies worldwide aimed at improving treatment.
ISO accreditation
The laboratory has an ISO 17025:2017 TESTING L633 accreditation. This accreditation means that all WGS laboratory tests performed at Hartwig Medical Foundation comply with internationally validated quality requirements. The most recent scope of the accreditation activities can be found at the website of the Dutch Accreditation Council, under registration number L633.
